Safety-Kleen Newark, CA is looking for a Laboratory Technician II to join their safety-conscious team. Responsibilities are, but not limited to the routine analysis of samples to determine their chemical and physical properties. This position will help support our re-refinery operation

Wage: $30hr

  Responsibilities
  
  
  • Ensures that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner always
  • Performs analysis of facility samples using GC/GCMS, ICP, General Chemistry and other analytical laboratory instruments
  • Maintain and troubleshoot equipment as needed
  • Properly manage waste generated because of analytical procedures
  • Maintain a safe working environment that complies with all applicable OSHA regulations
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management
    
    Qualifications
    
    What does it take to work for Safety-Kleen?
    
    
    • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field preferred
    • 3 years' experience operating GC/GCMS, ICP and General Chemistry instrumentation preferred
    • 3 years of professional experience in a lab preferred
    • Wet chemistry and sample prep a plus!
    • Familiarity with instrumentation software
    • Ability to document, record, and analyze data accurately
    • MS Office Suite - Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
    • Computer savvy
    • Must have excellent communication and organization skills
    • Able to work independently and in a team
    • Must be able to lift to 50lbs, bend, stoop, crouch, climb stairs and stand for long periods of time.
