Leader.Location:
- CA (San Francisco, Sacramento, Los Angeles or San Diego)
- Other DLR Group office locations will be considered but will
require frequent travel to CaliforniaDLR Group's Transportation
Sector provides architectural design, AOR, and construction phase
services for rapid transit facilities, urban transportation related
support facilities, rail stations, airport people mover
transportation expansions and renovations, ferry terminals, and
other specialized transit-oriented developments. The majority of
the firm's transportation expertise and design experience is
currently located in California.You should describe yourself as:

organization.Role Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of the Transportation sector business
strategy and growth plan with sector Client Leaders, design
experts, service and firm leaders.
- Actively monitor sector performance, identify and drive
initiatives to achieve profitability, growth, and ROI targets.
- Monitor industry trends for new emerging technologies and
opportunities.
- Identify and monitor leading indicators that could impact
opportunities and growth strategies (funding sources, regulations,
emerging markets, etc.).
- Build and expand partnerships with and for various government
agencies, design build partners and large engineering firms,
primarily in California, to grow the Transportation sector's design
resume and revenue.
- Collaborate with the Regional Leader to strategically pursue,
award, and execute transportation projects.
- Lead and participate in business development activities of
pursuit activities.
- Understand and advocate for DLR Group services as
appropriate.
- Conduct regular communications with sector Client Leaders
regarding sector performance, personnel strategies, and strategic
direction of the sector.
- Participate in monthly Global Sector Leader calls to provide
updates to firm leadership on initiatives and sector performance;
collaborate on cross-sector growth strategies and share appropriate
learnings with Global Sector Leader peers to advance DLR Group
goals.
- Participate in industry related events to establish and
maintain relationships with teaming partners.
- Identify, recruit, review, interview and select potential
candidates for Transportation sector open positions.
- Provide input to Region Leader on Compensation for sector
Client Leaders and Staff.
- Mentor the next generation of employee-owners, counsel clients,
and share your design voice on projects driving employee and client
satisfaction.
- Be a steward of DLR Group culture, design excellence and
ESOP.Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering (Civil or
related), or related degree.
- Demonstrated and successful experience pursuing and winning
large projects.
- 10+ years of experience leading projects and project teams with
increasing responsibility in related field or profession.
- Previous experience managing budgets for regional or sector
level practice.
- Ability to travel for business needs.Preferred Qualifications:
- Licensure.
- Published thought leader content or national speaking
